This moisturizer truly packs a punch with its all-in-one design. It is a bit pricier than other products in it’s category, but I’ve been using the same tube for over 3 months now, and I still have a little bit left!

We’ve all used, or at least heard of the company Vaseline… right?  For me, it was the first time I ever heard the words “Petroleum Jelly”.  I used this brand well into my teenage years, but as I got older I stopped.  I was in search of a better product, one that made my skin feel healthier and that was less common on women’s bathroom counters.

So, now that I have my grooming regimen down pat, Vaseline comes up with a line specifically for me, I mean “men”… sorry!  They realized, along with so many other product lines, that the needs of men are very different from their female counterparts.  For one, “a man’s skin is much thicker and far oilier than a woman’s”.

After years of research, Vaseline has created - Vaseline MEN – Body & Face and Hand Lotion.  It is designed to be quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving the skin protected, but not greasy.

I chose this product as my first Product of the Month, for several reasons:

(1) It is a great product for under $10.00

(2) It can be found in most drugstores (where most men shop for their grooming supplies)

(3) Michael Strahan is the spokesperson… (Go NY Giants!)

All jokes aside, I am impressed that Vaseline researched and found a way to make a product that is relevant to today’s “New Age” man.

Another month has come and gone, but the one good thing I always seem to look forward to is the opportunity to review another great product!  This month I decided to stay with the theme of hair grooming, and found a great shampoo, conditioner and a daily hydrator all within the same line for your enjoyment.

September is here (boy…time is flying!), and it’s time for another “Product of the Month” post.  I decided to cover a hair product this month since my first three (POTM) posts have all been about shaving.  So I chose a product line that I have been very familiar with for quite some time…Bumble and Bumble.

However, I did find this post to be more difficult than I expected. My dilemma:  How to choose one product from a product line that has so many great ones.  So, I decided to go with one that can be used on all hair types.

Grooming Creme by Bumble and Bumble.

Not only do I personally use this cream, but, whenever I apply it to my client’s hair, their initial reaction is always ”Wow, I need to get this”.  Grooming Creme covers all the bases: it moisturizes, provides a light hold, brings out your hair’s natural texture, and adds a subtle shine, not to mention it’s also perfect for the man on the go.  Who can ask for anything more?

Bumble and Bumble says it best…

[For] Who: Anyone; good for thick, coarse, and afro textures or dry hair; good for men, minimalists or one-minute styling.

I have yet to be disappointed with any of Bumble and Bumble’s grooming products, particularly their Grooming Creme.  Trust me, you cannot go wrong with this one!

Black Ice Shave Cream by

Disappointed…I was not!

Hand made with 100% natural ingredients, Black Ice Shave Cream, had me from the moment I opened the tub.  With a mix of Anise, Bergamot and Basil oils, Black Ice carries a subtle but very refreshing fragrance, which makes for a far more enjoyable morning shave.

Now, there are many shaving creams out on the market, that do not, maintain significant moisture througout the shave.  Keeping this in mind, Black Ice is one that stepped up to the challenge, keeping my face, and pretty soon yours too, consistently moist throughout the entire shave.  With impressive lather, a little goes a long way with or without the badger brush.  And, not only is it great for home use, but it works very well in the barbering environment, which is a win + win in my book!

Now, there are many reasons for this, (1) poor preparation (2) an old razor blade (3) or shaving against the grain.  Of course, there are are many other reasons, however, these are generally the most common.

So, with a little hint of  peppermint (and other amazing ingredients), here is a great solution, to cool that burn!

You know, shaving is a process that we all take for granted, and we don’t realize that sliding a blade across our faces, not only removes hair, but also removes a layer of skin.  So with this in mind we must find a way to soothe and help our face heal, so it can handle the shaving rigors again, tomorrow.

I have been using this product for about 2 years now. I firmly believe that this is the best treatment for ingrown hairs, razor bumps and irritation on the market today.  Why do I say this? Well, there are many products out there today that are designed to treat the problem of razor bumps (pseudo-folliculitis barbae).
