Once I opened the top, the fragrance immediately transported me back to the old iconic shaving barbershops of my youth. Then with one swipe across the top with my badger brush, and a quick mix in my mug, I was blown away by the amount of lather it produced!

To be quite honest, the above title doesn’t do this shave cream justice at all. I literally had enough lather to shave at least three times. So not only was the lather great, so was my shave! And the best part, its performance remained consistent after multiple shaves on different clients at the barbershop.

This cream possesses exactly what I mean when I suggest over-prepping the beard to achieve a smoother closer shave, and it does so all in one step!

Mixed with  - Coconut oil, Glycerin, Organic Cocoa Butter & Organic Aloe, and priced competitively at $18 for a 4oz tub, you can trust me when I say, “you will love it!”

Enter Master Barber – Iain Kane, creator of  The Village Barber product line. Currently comprised of two items essential in achieving a comfortable shave – the Shaving Oil and the Pure & Natural Aftershave Balm.

For the month of September, I chose the CruZer 6 Beard & Head as my P.O.T.M. The primary reason this particular model stood out is because it is geared towards achieving and maintaining the “scruffy” beard (See Post: How to Wear a Scruffy Beard) style, which is a big trend right now. The CruZer 6 is an essential tool for preserving the perfect amount of scruff day after day.

This CruZer allows for an easier way to achieve the desired length of beard by adjusting the settings on the shaver itself, eliminating the sometimes frustrating process of using comb guards, as found on a standard trimmer.

If you want more flexibility in your beard styles, and you are looking for a trimmer that can also give you the “clean look”, rest assured… the CruZer 6 can handle that request, too! Either way, the average guy doesn’t like anything too heavy applied to his face. But, he does want whatever he uses to work well! So, average guy, look no further, because I found what you’re looking for!

Revitalizing Gel by ClarinsMen, is a light-weight, great smelling daily moisturizer that covers well, firms and moisturizes. Your skin will immediately feel refreshed and appear more youthful after one application. I personally was amazed at how my skin felt and looked in a matter of days!

A part of the Age-Control line, ClarinsMen states that this item is best for men in the 30 to 45 age group-when men typically start to show the first signs of lines and fatigue.

Best description: ”This gel fights a dull complexion to invigorate the skin and provide energy and moisturization to prevent the visible signs of fatigue.”

Well said. And here’s a simpler way… ClarinsMen delivers!

A few months ago I was asked to write a post on the best colognes for the summer…

Hey, summertime is the time to be outside enjoying the warm air, so with this in mind, fresh subtle fragrances should be the goal for the list!

First up was online research, then several visits to fragrance stores and fragrance sections in department stores. After a few weeks, I quickly put together a list (which I still may post!), until I bumped into this amazing line of 6 fragrances.

Blu Mediterraneo by Acqua Di Parma hit every aspect of what Summer fragrances should smell like under one roof. And best of all, because of the composition of each fragrance, they can all be randomly blended together to create an entirely new fragrance! My personal combination was Mandorlo Di Sicilia & Arancia Di Capri.

Of course summer only lasts a few months, but rest assured that whatever bottle you choose, you will be able to wear it anytime of the year!

So with that being said, the crown goes to Kiehl’s Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap. It covers all of the bases with an amazing lather, a refreshing (but subtle) fragrance and the best part… Bran & Oatmeal to facilitate the exfoliation process.

As we all know, if a body wash is used in the shower, the best tool to lather up is a loofah or an exfoliating bath towel. Kiehl’s took care of that by creating a soap that not only lathers up on its own, but scrubs your body as well. And, yes it will get you clean… trust me!

For all of you bar soap fans, this is great buy!

**Honorable mention goes to Malin + Goetz’s Peppermint Bar Soap.

With a mixture of artemesia, mandarin, violet leaves, nutmeg, Virginia cedarwood… and a few other great ingredients, Burberry Touch for Men delivers the versatility of day and night all in one bottle!

It’s often described as “sweet, subtle and masculine” all at the same time, which is why this cologne can easily be dressed up or down. Guys, it’s a great addition to your cologne collection if you haven’t already done so. And, if you aren’t used to getting compliments on the way you smell… get ready!

From Aveda Men’s impressive grooming line, I chose their Pure-Formance Exfoliating Shampoo.

The choice wasn’t difficult.

A weekly shampoo, that features the exfoliating ability of removing dead skin cells, excess oil, and the product build-up associated with daily hairstyling… safely and naturally!

With the help of ingredients like seaweed, sage extract, spearmint oil, and walnut shells to name a few, this once-a-week cleanser will be sure to keep your hair and scalp healthy and clean.

Side note: It’s also safe enough to double as a body scrub as well. And that’s great bang for your buck!
