Another shirt, ruined!

Ever notice how quickly your shirts, and especially your undershirts get ruined by your deodorant? I know it can be frustrating because we all know the importance of wearing deodorant. So what can you do to save your clothes? Keep reading…

The quickest way to solve this problem would be to stop using a deodorant/antiperspirant that contains aluminum as the active ingredient.   Aluminum or Aluminium zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly, is a chemical used in some deodorants, and almost all antiperspirants. It’s main function is to clog a large number of pores in the skin, thereby preventing the pores from releasing sweat. When mixed with sweat, aluminium is known to stain clothing with a yellowish tint.

There are many deodorants on the market that work well and do not have this ingredient. Doing a quick Google search will help you find one.

In the meantime, however, if you need to remove that awful stain right now, here are a two quick home remedies!

  • Household ammonia and water: mix a half-cup of water with a half-cup of ammonia and dab on the stain. You can then launder according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Salt water: Dissolve a half-cup of salt in a quarter cup of hot water. Dip a clean white washcloth or sponge in the solution and sponge the stain repeatedly until the stain is gone. Be sure the fabric is washable.

    Great, great post!

Yes, you are correct! Its the simple that can make a huge difference. Many gents are unaware of this and always replenish shirts when it could be avoided. Once the shirts are clean it is wise to seek a deodorant without aluminum, they do exist.
