Applying pre-shave oil is one of my “must do” steps whenever I shave a client, and yes, it applies to me as well (except when I am product testing). With that being said, I am always on the hunt to try out as many as I can. This one called Smooth Shave Oil by Lab Series Skincare for Men is one that stands apart from the rest. It’s ingredients are Jojoba, Sweet Almond and Grape Seed Oil which come together to create an amazingly “slick” oil blend.
Considering the fact that their top selling shave cream is lotion-based, this oil was perfectly created to work as it’s counterpart. It adds that “extra” barrier of protection and glide that the skin can always use. It also works well as a stand alone for beard and mustache detailing. It comes in a pump bottle that allows for just the right amount to be dispensed each time. For me in particular it only takes 1 1/2 – 2 pumps since it covers pretty well. Group all those benefits together and you have a highly effective product that will yield a few months of shaving before requiring a refill. Priced at $20, it’s a good buy!

I haven’t had a chance to try the lab series pre shave oil yet but it sounds very promising.
